The City of Strafford, MO (pop. 2,358) is seeking an energetic, collaborative, experienced full-time City Clerk.  Complete salary range of $31,616 - $48,590 – plus excellent benefits.

The City Clerk reports to the City Administrator and is appointed by the Board of Aldermen. Applicant must maintain a high level of confidentiality and professionalism.

Associates Degree in business management, office management, records management, or a closely related field is desired.  Four years experience in performing work of a progressively responsible nature in a professional office setting; two years in a City Clerk role preferred.  An equivalent combination of training and/or experience.

Working under the direction of the City Administrator, the City Clerk maintains the City Code, responsible for its codification, custodian of city permanent public records and archives.  The position ensures accurate and transparent documentation of City government activity through maintaining a journal of Board of Aldermen proceedings, and various committees and commissions. The City Clerk performs duties related HR, payroll, benefits, and some accounting/bookkeeping functions.
