Light Up Strafford and Christmas Parade 2023!
What is Light Up Strafford? It's a Christmas home decorating contest! The goal is to simply light up our homes for Christmas such that Strafford will be seen from outer space. That's it! The winner will be selected by Mayor Ashley French and her panel of judges based on your nominations. Nominate decorated homes, and yes, certainly nominate your own decorated home!
Here's the timeline for all the festivities of Light Up Strafford and the Christmas Parade!
Monday, November 20th - December 10th at midnight, nominate decorated homes by using the form on the City's website, or watch this page for a link. Yes, nominate your own home if you've decorated the exterior for Christmas!
Saturday, December 9th Christmas Parade 5:00 p.m. Kick off the Christmas season with the annual Christmas Parade with Grand Marshal John Berry. All participants must have some kind of lighting on themselves for safety. Lineup starts at 4:15.
After the Christmas Parade, gather at Delp Park Pavilion for a festive tree-lighting ceremony with the Mayor and sing Christmas carols with the Strafford Community Singers.
Sunday, December 10th at midnight will be the cutoff for nominating homes. Watch social media and the City's website for the link to nominate decorated homes.
Thursday, December 21st, Light Up Strafford home decorating contest winners will be announced on social media. Cash prizes of $100, $50, and $25 for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place!
