Common signs and symptoms:
  • Neglect of responsibilities to obtain drugs and alcohol
  • Using in dangerous conditions such as using dirty needles, operating a motor vehicle while intoxicated, etc.

  • Fidgeting or jumpy personality
  • Severe changes in appetite or sleep patterns
  • Lethargy, slow deliberate actions
  • Slurred speech 
  • Abnormal conversations or appears detached from reality
  • Easily agitated over minor topics or physically angry towards others
